New initiative - Community Housing Solutions

October 18, 2016

Earlier this year, the Lancaster County Coalition to End Homelessness selected Tabor to launch this new initiative on their behalf. Tabor will be creating a new county-wide system to help people with housing barriers to find permanent housing that will also continue to engage and support landlords, as we have in the past. We are calling this initiative Community Housing Solutions – Connecting Landlords and Tenants (CHS).

Tabor will now be providing housing search and advocacy services not only to clients in Tabor’s Shelter to Independent Living (STIL) program, but also those in rapid re-housing programs at the YWCA and DVS (Domestic Violence Services), and a new organization called ECHOS (Elizabethtown Community Housing & Outreach Services).

The CHS Location Specialists will work with households in these rapid re-housing programs during their housing search process, and once a lease is signed, their Housing Case Manager (with STIL, YWCA, DVS or ECHOS) will provide the on-going supportive services you are familiar with. You will also be able to contact the case managers if problems arise with their clients.

The CHS Location Specialists will make sure you know who the Housing Case Manager is for each tenant housed through the Community Housing Solutions program. Remember, the Housing Location Specialists can be helpful to you in filling your units and saving advertising costs. You can e-mail us or give us a call when you have a vacancy, and we will do our best to fill it quickly!

CHS looks forward to serving you with the same level of care, professionalism and understanding of your needs that Tabor has always provided. We have greatly appreciated your willingness to assist our clients in the past and encourage you to continue doing that and have the satisfaction that comes with it.

Information about CHS will soon be on Tabor’s website. In the meantime, you can call Community Housing Solutions at 717-358-9381, or e-mail the program at
