Families/Individuals residing in Lancaster County who wish to save towards the purchase of an asset that will develop their own self-sufficiency.
Who Qualifies for this Service?
Tabor offers two types of Matched Savings Accounts:
- Family Savings Accounts
• Participants must be residents of Lancaster City or County and at least 18 years of age
• Household net worth must be less than $10,000
• Must meet government income guidelines
Participants must save for at least 12 months, and savings are matched dollar for dollar up to a maximum of $2000 and after completion of all program requirements. Participants must save for specific assets, such as: a home, education for self or child, small business start-up, or a first-time vehicle.
- Matched Savings for Independence Program
• Single female heads of household
• Participants must be residents of Lancaster City or County and at least 18 years of age
• Household net worth must be less than $10,000
• Must meet government income guidelines
This program provides a $3 match for each $1 saved. Participants can save from 6-36 months and can receive a maximum match of $6000 after completion of all program requirements. Participants must save for a specific asset, such as: home purchase, education for self or child, or a small business start-up.
