What is First-Time Homebuyer Services?
We help moderate- to low-income families purchase their first home through budgeting & housing counseling. It's not just about buying a house. It's about improving lives and making dreams come true.
A family enrolled in First-Time Homebuyer Services works one-on-one with their counselor to identify the goals & changes they need to make to become buyer-ready. The counselor helps each family discover how they too are capable of owning their own home and works with them through the whole process.
How Does It Work?
We provide:
- Budget counseling and credit repair to improve financial planning skills
- One-on-one counseling to prepare participants for homeownership, including a personalized "Buyer Ready" plan with specific steps and goals to reach homeownership
- Education on the home-buying process
- Assistance in locating a savings program, grants & mortgage products that will best help clients become homeowners.
- Advocacy and support throughout the house-selection & home-buying process
- A Matched Savings Account Program.
- Post-purchase counseling - we won't abandon you after the purchase!
